Questions Olaf answered
- Is exhibiting at a trade show like INTERGEO still worth it when buyers can research everything online?
- Per Olaf Freier, yes: 25–30% of INTERGEO visitors are first-timers who are not in any exhibitor’s database, and talking to them about their pain points doubles as market research for product development. ▶ 48:29
- Why do some exhibitors get no ROI from a trade show booth?
- In Olaf Freier’s experience, when an exhibitor misses its targets, there was usually no conversation with the organiser beforehand about its goals, so INTERGEO could not tailor visibility or campaigns to help. ▶ 32:19
- Is a corner booth better than a row booth at a trade show?
- Olaf Freier says a one-sided row booth leaves only about three metres of aisle as a touch point, while a corner stand open on two aisles gives two – the investment is the same but the output is completely different. ▶ 25:38
- Can exhibitors scan with SLAM or laser scanners at INTERGEO?
- Per Olaf Freier, scanning inside the Frankfurt venue was not allowed under changed rules on critical infrastructure; in Munich scanning inside is possible, but exhibitors should talk to INTERGEO first, especially for scanning outside. ▶ 56:19
- What is the reality capture experience park at INTERGEO in Munich?
- Olaf Freier describes a new area where visitors can take reality capture devices, walk through and scan objects themselves, and compare brands – next to a reality capture hub with the 3DISE podcast studio and four to five companies. ▶ 74:49
