## Summary

At the Prevu3D booth at INTERGEO 2025 in Frankfurt, CEO Michel Besner tells Michal Gula how Prevu3D aims to become the as-built platform for manufacturing companies and engineering firms: LiDAR scans, photogrammetry and Gaussian splats turned into a visual twin connected to ERP and PLM systems, opened up through APIs and SDKs instead of locking customers in.

## Key ideas

- According to Michel Besner, INTERGEO 2025 was the first show where Prevu3D’s entire product portfolio came together, after two years of transforming the company into an as-built platform for manufacturing companies and engineering firms.
- Prevu3D takes in LiDAR scanning, is adding photogrammetry and Gaussian splatting, and connects assets to systems of record such as ERP and PLM – so that, according to Michel, anyone on the shop floor can use the visual twin, not only technical staff.
- Michel says Prevu3D is building an open system with APIs and SDKs for getting data in and out and for building applications on top of the platform, because “you can’t lock in your customers.”
- Prevu3D keeps improving its meshing – faster and for more devices – and, according to Michel, is adding photogrammetry processing for drone and 360 camera imagery, including Gaussian splat processing (as of October 2025).
- Michel Besner argues the product’s edge is how fluid it feels: hundreds of gigabytes to terabytes of data navigated like a video game, where other solutions display the data but are slow and cumbersome.

## Questions answered

### What is Prevu3D?

According to Michel Besner, Prevu3D is building an as-built platform for manufacturing companies and engineering firms that turns 3D scanning data into a visual twin connected to systems of record such as ERP and PLM. (discussed at 0:04)

### Which data types does Prevu3D support?

Michel Besner says Prevu3D takes in LiDAR scanning and, as of October 2025, is adding photogrammetry from drones and 360 cameras and Gaussian splat processing, alongside integrations with different CAD systems. (discussed at 1:20)

### Does Prevu3D lock customers into its platform?

No – according to Michel Besner, Prevu3D is opening its system with APIs and SDKs for data input and output and for building applications on top of the platform, so it works as part of an ecosystem. (discussed at 2:23)

### Who is the Prevu3D visual twin for?

Michel Besner says it is meant for anybody, not just technical staff – for example employees on the shop floor who need to access a visual twin and understand the as-built world. (discussed at 1:23)

**Michal Gula** (0:00): Hey, Michel
**Michel Besner** (0:01): Hey, Michal.
**Michal Gula** (0:02): How is this year's show?
**Michel Besner** (0:04): It's, amazing. So for us, it's been a major transformation of the company for the past two years, and we have this really ambitious plan how to become the as-built platform for manufacturing companies and engineering firms and so on. And this year was the first time that the entire product portfolio came about. And so when people come to our booth this year, they're understanding all the pieces and what it means and how useful this is now to really manage better 3D scanning data in a much better way than ever before.
**Michal Gula** (0:32): So you see the change internally because you prepared for this. do you think that, from the audience it was perceived that way? Do you think that they have different exper- experience than they have la- last year?
**Michel Besner** (0:46): I think that last year people were curious about some of the changes we were making, but the picture all together was not clear enough, right? Now they see all the pieces connecting to each other, and now it makes sense. And so comments we're getting, for example, are like s- you know, executives telling us, "You're building the right product at the right time. This is amazing. I've been looking for this for years." And so we're really seeing that the market is understanding what we're doing, and it makes sense, and it's exciting for them because there's not another solution like this on the market right now.
**Michal Gula** (1:15): They're saying everybody know.
**Michel Besner** (1:16): Sorry?
**Michal Gula** (1:17): That everybody's telling that there is no other solution like ours.
**Michel Besner** (1:20): Well, in our case it is the case, right? Because we've built something that takes in LiDAR scanning. Now we're adding photogrammetry, Gaussian splatting, a connected layer of a- assets connected to your system of records like your ERP, PLM, and it created a true visual environment that can... You can give this to anybody, not just like the technical folks, but employees are on the shop floor that just need to access a visual twin, understand the, as-built world, and these integrations we've done with the different CAD systems all together, nobody else is doing that kind of system today. It's really a unique way of doing things. There's similar features around different other solutions, but nobody has that same story, that same visual experience that we bring in with our solution.
**Michal Gula** (2:04): I totally get the building the whole pipeline. is your approach more like, "Come to us, we will lock you in and keep you entertained the whole time"? Or is it like, "Come here, check this out. We have everything, and it's your choice whether you stay or you connect something else"?
**Michel Besner** (2:23): It's the second. Also, we've actually... Opening up our system, we are gonna have a lot of APIs and SDKs for people to input and output data from our system. We are truly building an open system, so we n- we don't want to lock in anybody to our solution. It's an ecosystem. You have different solutions in a factory, in a manufacturing site, and other places. You can't lock in your customers. You want your customers to be there because they want to be there, and you want it to be open so you can actually expand the possibility. So we'll have APIs to build new applications on top of our platform or applications outside connected to our system. It's gonna be a full open environment.
**Michal Gula** (3:01): You have been always great, one of the best with your meshing algorithm. did this improve even more from the last year?
**Michel Besner** (3:09): We always keep improving the meshing process, making it faster, supporting more devices. Now we're gonna add photogrammetry processing for drone photogrammetry to other 360 cameras, including Gaussian splat, processing into our system as well.
**Michal Gula** (3:24): Perfect. Is there anything else you would like to point out what's, what's new or what's coming in a close time or...
**Michel Besner** (3:31): there's even more stuff coming, but I will keep some surprises towards next, the next few trade shows like GeoWeek. What I can say is that if you think you know Prevu3D and you haven't seen us in a short while, come check it out because we have changed so much. I love our... When our customers tell us that we're moving faster than a Learjet. We're moving so fast. We're innovative. We're creating solutions that are really addressing the needs of the market. And it's exciting to see the, the reaction to the market.
**Michal Gula** (3:55): I was shortly, shortly chatting with, your guys from the booth, and they said that people were just coming and coming, interested in seeing your demo.
**Michel Besner** (4:04): Absolutely. Again, our product is extreme visual. It's exciting to see how fluid it is. It's easy to navigate. This is not cumbersome. We're dealing with hundreds of gigabytes, terabytes of data, and it feels like you're just playing a video game, but you are dealing with real life, with a real factory, a real, you know, site, and that makes a huge difference. Other solutions, they can dela- they can display the data, but it's cumbersome, it's slow, it's painful. This is fun to play.
**Michal Gula** (4:28): Perfect. Thank you very much, Michel.
**Michel Besner** (4:30): Thank you so much.
**Michal Gula** (4:30): 2D is against my religion.
